Open is Socialcontext's open-vocabulary approach to contextual classification. In place of a fixed set of categories such as the IAB Content Taxonomy, Open lets a user describe the context they care about in their own terms and classifies against that description.
The platform behind it crawls and harvests open-web content at scale, then runs it through a staged pipeline: conventional preclassification to narrow the field, followed by LLM-based classification that labels each page and explains its reasoning. Classification happens at the URL level, and the rationale is shown with each result.
